You may remember a feature in our December Edition where Olwen Griffiths of Pontypridd
Chiropractic Clinic announced her intention to give back to the Stroke Association. This was a
personal mission for Olwen following on from a brain injury she had suffered in 2019.
Olwen’s recovery was supported by the Stroke Association every step of the way.
“I was visited at home by a dedicated nurse and was offered mobility aids and referral teams to help get me back on
my feet. This charity are excellent at understanding younger stroke victims and the challenges that may be in the way
of recovery. They offer support but more importantly give hope and positive encouragement.
Without a driven mindset, I doubt I would have recovered as successfully. Thankfully, these days I’m back to loving
my job, serving this beautiful community, walking our dogs and relieved that I’ve regained my strength inside and out.”
“I had started the ball rolling by donating £5 from each visitor’s treatment throughout December. The
Ponty Pages contacted me and offered some editorial space to support the fundraising too. Along
with the editorial and the the power of social media it snowballed from there! I had neighbours and
members of the Pontypridd community calling into the clinic to donate in person. I just want to
say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their generosity”
We’re pleased to announce, Olwen raised a huge £1,181.25 for the Stroke Association!
