Pontypridd’s new social group brings members of the community together to make new friends, socialise and keep fit.
Forever Friends Ponty’ is a socialising group started by Ellie Johnson from Cilfynydd during lockdown. Ellie started this group as she had recently taken up walking around her local area and thought others would like to join her on her adventures. Ellie had posted on Facebook about the first walk and to her surprise nine strangers showed up on the day to take part!
With several Sunday morning and Friday evening walks already under their belt, there are plans to start wild swimming, Sunday dinner meet ups, beach meet ups and so much more in the next few months.
Speaking with some of the people who have joined, they were quick to share how friendly and welcoming the group is. Some members have suffered with anxiety and depression, but once they conquered the hurdle of joining, they have expressed how glad they are to have done so.
Ellie via Forever Friends Ponty’ has enabled members to engage with new people, socialise and make new friends and long may it continue!
